What is the Point of Doing Breathwork?
Integrative Breathwork is a powerful and highly effective approach for self-exploration and self-empowerment that draws on our own inner resources to mindfully emerge into spiritual transformation and wholeness. Our psychological, emotional, spiritual and physical well being and our breath are connected, and using specific breathing techniques generate enhanced states of consciousness, with heightened awareness and the potential for inner healing. Inner intelligence activates the psyche and guides the process, with whatever arising unique to each of us at that time.
Is Breathwork Guided?
Because it is not guided or facilitated, the therapeutic catharsis, revelations, answers, and/or images you receive are all yours alone, meaning you can trust what that comes forward to be exactly what you need at the time. The psyche searches for content with enough emotional charge to bring it to your awareness to work with, and it can be very effective for working with addiction, trauma, depression and anxiety.
How Does it Work?
Integrative Breathwork combines accelerated breathing with evocative music, mixed in a specifically designed, high fidelity playlist, typically with eyes closed and lying down, each person utilizing their own breath and the music to experience a non-ordinary state of consciousness. Participants are provided with recommendations on how to set up their environment and what to have with them. An Integrative Breathwork session usually requires a two-hour commitment, with the actual process lasting about an hour. Time is allowed prior to starting with instructions, and time following for integration. Sessions can be done in-person, or online, with equal effectiveness.
Is it Safe?
The process is very safe, simple and private, and you remain in complete control of your own process. Having said that, we screen those interested for contraindications such as untreated high blood pressure, pregnancy,
